It’s been fifty years since Holden first won Bathurst for the first time, and to celebrate Australian Muscle Car Issue 104 just hit news stands with a special edition presenting five Holden stories about cars, drivers or events that haven’t yet had their time in the limelight.
The stories cover the first Bathurst 500 in 1963, Bruce McPhee’s win in ’68, the Monaro’s return to Bathurst with Ron Dickson in 1973, Peter Brock’s 1978 race with HDT and the story of Brock’s #05 car from his 1983 win, which endured a stint on the roof of a Melbourne Holden dealership before he was able to get it down again.
The magazine also features 25 top Bathurst moments for Dick Johnson Racing, interviews Spencer Martin and reviews the AMSCAR Series’ Group A years. It’s packed with stories from the history of Australian touring car racing that we work to bring to life with the Heritage Touring Car series, and looks like a great read!
