Heritage Touring Cars is pleased to announce the dates of the 2026 Heritage Touring Cars Race Calendar and the 2026 HTC 5L SuperSprint Calendar.
The Heritage Touring Cars Race Calendar will feature the Legends of Bathurst with our iconic Group C and Group A race cars, and the newly incorporated Group 3A (5L Touring Cars) and Group 3B (Super Touring) across four championship rounds around the country.
The HTC 5L SuperSprint featuring genuine period Australian Supercars will start the season at the Adelaide Festival, then follow on with two major SuperSprint events during 2026. The first official HTC SuperSprint outing is at The Philip Island Classic in March, and the second outing will be at the revived Muscle Car Masters in August at Sydney Motor Sport Park.
Heritage Touring Cars Calendar
- Round 1 – 2026 VHRR Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Phillip Island Victoria, March 13 – 15. Both HTC Race Grid, plus HTC 5L SuperSprint.
- Round 2 – 2026 HRCC Autumn Classic Speedfest at Morgan Park Raceway, Warwick QLD, May 9 – 10. HTC Race Grid.
- Round 3 – 2026 Winton Festival of Speed at Winton Motor Raceway, Winton VIC, July 24 – 25. HTC Race Grid.
- Round 4 – 2026 Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park, Sydney NSW, August 29 – 30. Both HTC Race Grid, plus HTC 5L SuperSprint.
The series will also join the Baskerville Historics October 16 – 18 in Baskerville Tasmania as a non-championship round.
The Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport has been the series’ traditional racing season opener for some years now and is the biggest weekend on the Australian historic motorsport calendar. The 2025 event saw close over 50 iconic Australian touring cars assembled as the race series joined with the 5L Touring Car SuperSprint. We are endeavouring to meet or exceed this effort in 2026 with a race grid full of Group C, Group A, Group 3A, and 3B race grid and an expanded HTC 5Litre SuperSprint event featuring many famous Supercars in their original livery.
From Victoria we head north to Queensland for the Autumn Classic Speedfest May 9 & 10 with a full Group C, Group A, and new Groups 3A, 3B race grid. The Morgan Park round is a favourite of competitors, boasting a friendly community atmosphere and great racing on a challenging, enjoyable circuit.
Then it’s back down to Victoria over the weekend of July 24 & 25 for the Winton festival of Speed at Winton Motor Raceway. Developed by the Benalla Auto Club, who would also play a role in the development of the original Wakefield Park circuit in New South Wales, the circuit has become known as ‘Australia’s Action Track’. It was first used for touring car racing in the Group A era, and we’re pleased to bring those cars back to the circuit to run at full race pace once again, this time alongside Group C, and the new Groups 3A and 3B.
August 29 to 30 will see another icon of Australian touring car racing – Muscle Car Masters – roar back to life at Sydney Motorsport Park after a short hiatus. Bringing together both HTC’s race grid of Groups C, A, 3A and 3B, and the HTC 5L SuperSprint featuring iconic supercars, the event will also include Group N historic touring cars, Holden HQs, Australian Trans Am and Trans Am 2. This is our spiritual home in Sydney, and we’re honoured to host the final championship round of 2026 at the meeting.
An end of season non-points special event will take place at the Baskerville Historics October 16 – 18 featuring a race grid consisting of Groups C, A, 3A and 3B. One of the country’s biggest and most beloved race meetings, the Baskerville Historics will serve as the perfect backdrop for a celebration of the year with some great racing.
We’d like to thank everyone who has been involved in Heritage Touring Cars over the past 12 months, and of course the years before them, for your support and contribution to keeping the golden age of Australian touring car racing alive and well. The Legends of Bathurst will be back in 2026, and we hope you’ll join us for another great year of motorsport.
